1 Anabezi – Lower Zambezi
Anabezi is half luxury lodge half tented camp – built on raised walkways with plunge pools and extremely luxurious home comforts you also have a canvas roof which only adds to the luxury and romance of it all. All the rooms face a small plain which is always dotted with impala and other plains game, and to the back you will find game drives extremely fruitful and will often see leopard and lion.
2 Shumba Camp – Kafue
Shumba Camp is very luxurious and is located in one of the most wild parts of Kafue, which in turn means its in one of the most wild parts of Africa. The lodge is very luxurious but small and personal with the emphasis being on having natural and authentic wildlife experiences either on game drives or from your luxury suite. Kafue offers so much wilderness to explore that you’ll never cover the same area twice and game drives out on the plains are wonderful.
3 Royal Zambezi Lodge – Lower Zambezi
This luxury lodge is romantic and has one of the best spas in Zambia – here the highlight is certainly heading off down a remote channel on a canoe and seeing elephant and hippo close up. Royal has a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and you will feel at home immediately. The rooms are comfortable and spacious and you will want for nothing.
4 Chindeni Safari Camp – South Luangwa
Once again this luxury lodge also has canvas roofs which make it all exceptionally romantic – this area is just magical as you are very remote in the most Southern part of the South Luangwa, here the game is excellent and you have the added bonus of views of the Chindeni Mountain Range which are stunning. You will not see another soul on a game drive which makes it all the more enticing.
5 Zungulila – South Luangwa
Based in the same area as Chindeni this extremely luxurious lodge is for exclusive use only and is certainly by far the best option in Zambia, and one of the best in all of Africa for large groups or families going on safari. Nothing can compare to the feeling of being out in the wilderness and to seeing a leopard or lion and being the only people there. Zungulila is run by a team of truly passionate guides and staff that have invested their own love into the camp, this really shows as the atmosphere is a fantastic one.
