North America is huge, and there’s no denying the expansive breadth of Canada. Eastern Coastal Provinces- New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec
If you want a vacation that is rich in international culture and history, your eastern provinces are most likely the best way to go. Quebec, known for its definitively Franco style, offers a broad range of metropolitan life in Montreal, while providing excellent ski slopes and beautiful vineyards in the summer. New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador are some of the smallest provinces in the country, but they are rich in colonial and Iron Age history, with gorgeous drives and maritime flavors.
Eastern Isle Provinces- Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia
If you’d like to just get away from it all, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia are places of escape unmatched by any other province. Highlighting the region’s cultural heyday in the 19th century, Victorian architecture and lifestyle abound on Prince Edward Island, where you can enjoy relaxing endeavors and peruse around the beautiful beaches.
Hudson Bay Provinces- Manitoba, Ontario
It’s difficult to think of Canada without immediately associating it with Ontario, and for good reason. This is one of the country’s most prominent and industrial regions, making it an excellent destination for visitors, especially since both provinces are situated at the base of the great Hudson Bay, which acts a geographical border. Another splendid aspect of these regions is the large sections of natural habitat that are easily accessed with a short drive; in case you’d like to see some scenery.
Interior Provinces- Alberta, Saskatchewan
Nature abounds in the beautiful interior provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan. From the gorgeous national parks of Banff and Jasper, all the way to the Badlands filled with prehistoric fossils, there are tons to explore and enjoy in these regions. Don’t be fooled though, there’s plenty of urban life in the cities of Saskatoon and Regina!
West Coast Provinces- British Columbia
Like every other province, British Columbia has special feature that you can’t get anywhere else in Canada— the golden beaches up and down its beautiful western coast. No matter where you spend your vacation, every resort can guarantee at least one thing: relaxing spots to get in some sun. Juxtaposed against most of the beachfronts are the intruding forests of the west coast, balancing the sea breeze with fauna and green.
Territories- Yukon, Northwest, Nunavut
While technically none of these are provinces, they are officially designated as territories of the country of Canada, and nonetheless offer some of the most spectacular sights and activities. Because of their low populations, these regions are pristinely kept and offer rare opportunities to indulge in nature.
