It is a wonderful sparkling wine which has been produced in Spain since 1972. It is a very special Catalan drink. It can be in two colors: white and pink and you can buy it in every supermarket and special shops, especially in Barri Gòtic.

There are many shopping centers in Barcelona, with the two biggest and most popular being El Corte Ingles and Fnac.

El Corte Ingles is the number one centre in Barcelona. Here you can find any clothes, items for home, technique, kitchen items and food.  Fnac is situated in a huge shopping centre called I’illa del Diagonal and if you are searching for books, movies or cd’s, then this is for you. Also you should visit the shopping mall El Triangle which is located in Placa de Catalunya. The Centre Comercial de les Glories is a huge mall, which is taking up 250000 square meters and here there are many interesting shops, bars and cafes.

Open Markets

There are no less than 50 open markets in Barcelona with the most famous being La Boqueria, whose prices are not high if it is located in the centre of the city. The food is very delicious, and you cannot resist yourself from buying. There are also many places with homemade food and especially at lunch time, the market becomes very popular.

Unique items

One of the main shopping areas of Barcelona – Gothic Quarter (Barri Gothic) boasts a huge number of antique shops and second hand shops. Serious collectors have to go along the street the Calle Palla near Plaça de Pi where you can find everything from rare vintage knick-knacks to old posters, handmade items and other antiques. And do not forget to look around the little side streets – there are also antique shops that hide real treasures inside.
