Get the most of your family outing to Atlanta, Georgia. There are plenty of ways to spend your family time together with places like The Georgia Aquarium, or maybe the New World of Coca-Cola. There are so many options to choose from and here are five of the best for you to consider.
- Stuck in Customs
Georgia Aquarium
Kids of all ages normally go mad for the multi-coloured fish and awesome predator sharks on display at most aquariums, but this one is probably bigger and better than all the rest, it is certainly the biggest as it is officially the world’s largest aquarium. The venue is set up to entertain and educate in equal measure and their aim is to engage their visitors with displays housed in more than ten million gallons of water, so there is plenty to see and do for everyone.
New World of Coca-Cola
A visit to this attraction holds more surprises than you might imagine and there is a host of visitor attractions and special features to keep you entertained. Highlights of the day include a visit to the vault where the secret formula for the drink is actually stored, a Taste It beverage lounge where you can try from a selection of over 60 different beverages from around the globe, a 4D Theater experience with moving seats and a great photo opportunity with the 7ft high Coca-Cola polar bear.
Fernbank Museum of Natural History
Before the kids scream out the dreaded word “boring” when you mention a museum, you can be assured that the Fernbank is a different experience and it is very unlikely that they will actually end up bored at all. Highlights of your visit will include “The Giants of the Mesezoic” who were the largest dinosaurs in the world and the recently opened NatureQuest which is a hi-tech interactive display designed to entertain and educate the kids in a fun way where they feel really involved.
Stone Mountain Park
If outdoor adventures are your family’s favourite activity then the Stone Mountain Park offers a wide range of activities set in about 3,200 acres of beautiful surroundings. They host a number of regular events that are worth checking out if you are there at the time including a Pumpkin Festival and Christmas activities. Regular all year round attractions include Experience Geyser Towers and the awesome Skyride to the top of Stone Mountain.
Inside CNN Studio Tour
This is definitely something different to do and you get a chance to look behind the scenes of a major news network and see the broadcasting studios in action. The standard tour lasts about an hour as you walk around with a guide or you can treat yourself to the VIP Tour if you really want to find out more about how TV production works. Obviously this attraction would not be suitable for the younger kids but teenagers really love the chance to see a TV studio in action.
Whatever you decide to do in Atlanta, you are sure to find an attraction that the family will be talking about long after your visit has ended.
