Shopping in Guernsey
If you fancy a bit of retail therapy, hit the high street in Guernsey to find some fabulous shops including clothing, shoes and jewellery among other things. Whether you want to treat yourself or find the perfect souvenir to take home with you, you will be spoilt for choice. Guernsey not only sells fashionable clothing but it is also home to a wide range of antiques and collectables.
Get Active in Guernsey
If you fancy doing something a little bit different, why not get the whole family together and go on a bike ride? Guernsey is relatively flat making it easy to hire bikes and go on a tour of the city. Explore the island on your bikes and discover some of the best beaches. Why not set yourself a challenge to ride around the entire island? If cycling 23 miles is out of the question, create a route that is more suited to your ability. Going on a bike ride is only one option; you could also try kayaking, hiking or climbing. The island is known for its stunning scenery and these are just a few of the ways to see it. Why not try something new? There is no limit to amount of activities you can try. Spend a few hours fishing, abseiling or enjoy a spot of archery.
Spend a Day at the Beach
Guernsey is home to some of the most spectacular stretches of coastline around and a day at the beach is fun for the whole family. Walk along the shore or enjoy a breathtaking cliff walk and stop off at one of the cafes for a spot of lunch. Better still; visit one of the infamous beach kiosks for an ice cream. With over 27 beaches to choose from, we are sure that you will find your own slice of paradise.
Eat Fish and Chips
You cannot spend more than a few days in a seaside environment without sampling the local produce. When it comes to food, Guernsey has some spectacular restaurants but if you are looking for casual dining, Coco Bay is famous for the tastiest fish and chips and a trip to Guernsey is not complete without paying this place a visit.
Go Back in Time
Guernsey may not be the largest of islands but it has a whole lot of history to offer. There are many historical attractions to experience from the German Occupation Museum, the SeaGuernsey2005 Flag Mast monument, the La Valette Underground Military Museum and Victor Hugo’s house. One thing’s for sure, you will not run out of fun things to do in Guernsey. If you have had your fill of history, explore the aquarium, go bowling or take a stroll in one of the many parks. If you are looking for a place to stay in Guernsey, you can find beautiful self catering cottages online at www.macoles.com.
