Australia is a really popular place to visit. From backpacking students to retirees looking for an adventure, the visitors to Oz are international and certainly diverse. One challenge faced by all is where to stay? Whether the budget is miniscule or huge – there is always somewhere great to stay in Australia.
QT, Sydney
Boutique chic is one very nice way to kick off a visit to Sydney. This is the sort of establishment that offers a stylish place to rest your weary head. Everything looks modern, chic and it’s the kind of place where you might expect local royalty Kylie Minogue to be perched at the fabulous bar, sipping on a cocktail. The hotel gives a nod to the days when hotels were bastion of glamour. There is a unique barbers shop, complete with a original barber chair and a rather groovy tattooed barber, polishing his cut throat razor. Spas are de rigueuer these days and the spa at QT does not disappoint. There’s more than a nod to the Burlesque age here, check out the staff uniforms! The bedrooms are grown up, dark and ever so fabulous. The devil is certainly in the detail at this memorable hotel. Its a great place to stay in for a treat, if you want to forget about the usual suspects in hotel land.
Daintree Luxury Accommodation
Getting back to nature in Australia is a really easy project. The oldest surviving rainforest on the planet is waiting for you in Daintree, two hours north of Cairns airport. This is Indiana Jones territory but rather more peaceful. The rainforest is, of course, amazing. Imagine a green space filled with ancient plants and trees. Some of the spectacular greenery is living on , 160 million years after the beginning of the forest.
Its a unique place to experience and, as befitting such a grand forest, there are also some unique places to stay in order to enjoy the forest. Treehouses seem to be an appropriate accommodation when visiting Daintree. These have certainly moved on from the ad libbed structures of childhood. Luxurious treehouses are a wonderful way to spend some time contemplating a view of a rainforest canopy that trail down to the Coral Sea. Cockatoo Hill have beautiful treehouses that even come with subtle lighting, mini bars and some of the best views of the rainforest. Instead of a swimming pool, there’s always a natural pool to splash about in. As you are within the canopy of the rainforest, it is possible to experience the natural world close up. Its extraordinary to observe Boyd’s Rainforest Dragons up close, waiting on a tree trunk for dinner. Ever watched a Flying Fox bat from the comfort of your bed? The Southern Cassowary is an endangered and rare colourful bird but there’s every chance you will see one of these flying past your window at dawn. Its a place worth visiting and worth staying in an unforgettable location.
A Place of your Own
Of course, the best thing about Australia is the amazing diversity between states. There’s amazing beaches, forests and even deserts. Its pretty hard as a tourist to squeeze everything in during a typical two week trip. Many visitors are deciding to stay in Australia for longer to experience the diverse number of incredible places to explore.
Renting a property allows visitors to have a base from which to explore and is often more cost effective than staying in hotels. This is no by means slumming it either. The range of rental properties run from cute apartments in Sydney to beach houses with pools, jacuzzis and staff in Coffs Harbour. Its a great way to meet locals and enjoy the local scene. That could be hanging out with the surf enthusiasts in Torquay or meeting up with nature fans in Daintree. Try renting a property for a new travelling experience.
